AbstractNature's food chain, characterized by predation, mirrors the structure of the human food chain from farm to consumer. Smallholder farmers and businesses often find themselves at the mercy of larger entities in this chain. The 2SCALE initiative, launched in 2012, seeks to transform the traditional predator-prey relationship in the food chain into one that is inclusive and mutually beneficial. Through skill development, technology transfer, and business support, 2SCALE empowers small farmers and entrepreneurs, making them more competitive and providing better access to markets. The initiative spans nine countries and multiple sectors, focusing on creating sustainable and inclusive business relationships across the agricultural value chain.
